In spring or winter, fall or summer
On dry river or flowing water
In famine or feast, even when the sun starts to cease
God is God and that will never change

In the greening of leaves and withering of sheaves
In the ocean’s roar and in the silence of the shore
In a free bird’s flight and its unadorned plight
God is God and that will never change

In abundance and in nothingness
In the riches of light and in the gloom of darkness
At the height of victory and in downfall’s cruelty
God is God and that will never change

In broad-mindedness or intransigence
In pure heart’s joy or in deep cries of the soul
In the sound of laughter or in pleas for dreams that shatter
God is God and it will never change

In passion and desire or in voidness and filthy mire
In seeking and longing or in betraying and forgetting
From the eyes of beauty to the blindness of vanity
God is God and it will never change

In hatred and strife
In oblivion of life
In ignorance of bliss
In death’s sweetest kiss
God is God and it will never change

From where the wind blows to where the wind ends
Or whereabouts of treasure that’s sought-after
Where the words are spoken and whose ears there hearken
God is there and He is not shaken

Through love’s fire or heart’s beseech in dire
In the angst of disbelief or in the gladness of the spirit
From the beginning of time until the end of all thine
God is forever and ’tis truth divine
